| In under an
hour, you can replace your old RV toilet with a brand-new one. The job requires a
few simple tools. Old stools may be stuck to the floor and need a little muscle to lift
off. Others will lift right off with ease. Keep your work area organized and clean for a
speedy process. 1.Turn off the water pump in your RV and flush the
toilet to alleviate any pressure or excess water in the lines. 2. Look
for a plastic cover at the bottom of your RV toilet. It will either rest on each side of
the toilet or wrap around it. Pull it up and remove. You can also pull it out toward you
if it feels stuck. 3. Locate the nuts and bolts underneath the plastic
cover and use a wrench to unscrew. 4. Lay down an old towel down around
the toilet to catch any excess water or drips. Lean behind the toilet and find the hose
connected to the top back. Unscrew any nuts and bolts. 5. Pull the toilet
straight up from the floor. Rock it and twist it gently if it appears stuck to the RV
floor. Set the old toilet out of the way on old towels or newspapers. 6.
Replace the rubber cone-shaped gasket that seals the toilet to the floor and keeps sewage
from leaking. Just lift it off and replace with the new one that came with your toilet.
Place your new toilet on top of the ring and line up the bolts into the holes in the
bottom of the toilet. 7. Replace the nuts over the bolts and tighten
snugly. Do not attach so tightly that you can't unscrew them again. Sit on the toilet and
move around to see that it doesn't wobble or come loose. 8. Reattach the
hose to the toilet and tighten the nuts over the bolts. Refrain from stripping or
attaching them too tightly. 9. Turn the water back on and flush the
toilet to check for leaks. Clean up your work area and properly dispose of your old
toilet. RV Parts, Hardware Suppliers has many parts, hardware, rv toilets, sealand rv toilet, shower toilet, repair for you travel trailer, fifth wheel, motorhome, camper, or any rv you travel with.
